Recent MTOs Examples

Dear All, Hope you are having a good week. We are really enjoying seeing some of the creations our clients are making in their MTO purchases. Since launching the MTO programme we have seen some really cool models come through which is what we like to see as it always keeps us on our toes to ensure we are designing new things here for our ready to wear stock. If you are thinking about MTO, I would suggest looking at our MTO page on the website at some of the examples from others clients to get the design juices flowing […]

Summer Party Season- Loafers are a must

Dear All, I hope you had a pleasant weekend. Summer is pretty much in full swing which also means plenty more parties; including BBQs, a day at the races, Henley Regatta, Wimbledon and many more garden parties happening. Finding the correct outfit to wear at all these events is quite challenging but I think Loafers are always a winner. (Unless in enclosures with specific dress codes) I recently went to the Epsom Races (not in Royal enclosure) so could wear something ‘smart/casual’. I ended up wearing a Blue Suede loafer with navy chinos, blue shirt and a rather bright linen […]

The NGT Last

Dear All, We have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the NGT last. Our NGT last was designed to be the midway point between our TMG and JKF lasts ( to come in next posts). It’s intention was to serve as a last that was neither too round nor too pointy. We felt that this creation posed as the ideal ‘modern round’ last. The toe shape is not the only detail that separates our NGT last […]

The LPB- A Soft Chisel

Dear All, We have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the LPB Soft Chisel Last. The soft chisel last is the tamer Brother of the MGF Sharp chisel (See previous post). It’s softer lines ensure a safer look and in fact can complement just about any style. The LPB last is no exception and would look good with any suit or smart trouser. Pair it with your heavy English flannel or your lightweight Italian wool and […]

The MGF Last- A Sharp Chisel

Dear All, We now have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the MGF Sharp Chisel Last. The Chisel toe is the quintessential shape for a smart shoe that means business. Its sharp, yet fluid shape ensures a professional look throughout and also maintains a manner of elegance and style unrivaled by many. This last is probably our most generous last in terms of width and room in the Toe Box. The arch support and heel support is […]

Summer Suede’s- From Loafers to Chukkas

Dear All, We are now well into Spring Summer here in London and I’ve certainly been favouring my various Suede shoes and love the versatility and different styles you can create. Suede is synonymous for wearing on the dry, bright sunny days and can really add another dimension to ones outfit with the choice of colours available. This season we have bought quite heavily into Suede and turns out it was a good idea. Suede Loafers- great for wearing with Jeans, Chinos and sometimes even Shorts. They really do have a more relaxed look to them which also presents an […]

The Tony II- A Wholecut with a twist

Dear All, A wholecut oxford is sometimes just too classic and predictable but not this one! Our Tony II in Dark Brown Museum Calf and Black presents a nice and sleek alternative to the classic wholecut that, will leave many admiring your feet. The Tony II comes on the LPB last and I feel it gives a lovely silhouette to this model. The fun is in in the ‘bouncy ball’ design which is not something commonly seen. We wanted to design something that has a fun twist yet remaining classic and elegant. Whilst this isn’t going to break records for […]
