Dear All, After the successful Summer Sale we have been quite low on a majority of our CORE products but fear not! Along with all of our exciting new additions to the Autumn/Winter collection we have now received a Re-stock in some of our most popular CORE products. My Favourite model – the Montlake (pictured above) is back in action in all its glory! The New Monk – Corliss III in Black

Dear All, I trust you had a pleasant weekend. With lots happening here at the JFitzPatrick HQ we have been delighted at the reaction so far to our new Autumn/Winter models. One model in particular that stands out is the new colourway in the Corliss III- now available in Black. We launched the Corliss III in Burgundy earlier on in the year and it was a huge hit with everyone hence now a second colurway. The reason I am particularly excited about the Corliss in black is that I have re-connected with wearing Black shoes. I have 3 pairs […]

Samples- where the inspiration starts

Dear All, Hope you are having a great week. Many of you may or may not know how long it takes to come up with the model that you see in each Ready to wear collection. It is a long process from an idea that Justin has sketched on a piece of paper to the finished article available to buy online or in store. When I worked on Savile Row and Jermyn St in previous jobs, being part of Management I got to see alot of how the design teams came up with garments ready for a collection which […]

Monkstraps- Single or Double?

So here at J.FitzPatrick we like to get feedback from you and recently a topic of conversation has been about Monkstraps. Now, personally I am a big fan of Double Monks as I have the Montlake in both Cedar Calf and the Snuff Suede model along with some others from different brands but since joining the J.FitzPatrick team I have seen more customers buying the Single Monk Fauntleroy (above) than the Montlake (below).   Why is that, that’s the question? I do understand and agree that if we were to make a black single and double monk the single would aesthetically appeal […]

Reintroduction of the Corliss Model

I introduced the Corliss model as one of my original models back when JF first launched. It was my attempt at breaking the mold on what was perceived as a double monk and doing it completely different. I always loved the model itself but was having issues with the buckles and the little piece of leather that held them. Some of them would snap off at the easiest pull and I could not have that as it was costing me lots of money to repair them. So I basically recalled the model and tried to change the buckle on future […]

The Corliss Reinvented

The Corliss double monk was one of our original models. It was my version of a “JF Twist” double monk, having the straps coming back on both side of the shoes as opposed to both coming from one side swooped over to the other. It was a great model but something that I had to put a pause on as there were issues with the straps. I have since sorted out all issues with straps for monks going forward so am thinking to re-release it. The problem now is that I don’t know what version to make it in. The […]
