The Lynwood- 20% Off selected models in our Sale

Dear All, We are just over a week into our Annual Summer Sale and there are still some great deals to be had. One of which is 20% Off 4 of 6 of our Lynwood Hand-sewn Derby. Whilst we know the most famous model is a split-toe Derby, we wanted to keep the front clean and thus not have this feature. The new model also comes on our new last, the SEA last. Features of this last are that it has a more Symmetrical shape from the forefoot to the toe and a narrow fitting, ensuring a more hugging feel […]

The SEA Last- Symmetrical Point

Dear All, We have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the new SEA Symmetrical Point Last. The newest addition to the family that has similar aesthetics to our JKF last and is more ‘pointy’ than our others. In terms of the fit, the SEA has similar qualities with our NGT last due to being our most fitted, offering a very hugging feeling through the arch/heel/forefoot which adding a tiny bit of length in the toe. The […]

A few Recent MTO examples

Dear All, Hope you had a great weekend! We are really enjoying seeing some of the creations our clients are making in their MTO purchases. Some rather bold (like above) and then some a bit more classic but all have their own unique characteristics. Since launching the MTO programme we have seen some really cool models come through which is what we like to see as it always keeps us on our toes to ensure we are designing new things here for our ready to wear stock. If you are thinking about MTO, I would suggest looking at our MTO […]

The LPB- A Soft Chisel

Dear All, We have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the LPB Soft Chisel Last. The soft chisel last is the tamer Brother of the MGF Sharp chisel (See previous post). It’s softer lines ensure a safer look and in fact can complement just about any style. The LPB last is no exception and would look good with any suit or smart trouser. Pair it with your heavy English flannel or your lightweight Italian wool and […]

Summer Suede’s- From Loafers to Chukkas

Dear All, We are now well into Spring Summer here in London and I’ve certainly been favouring my various Suede shoes and love the versatility and different styles you can create. Suede is synonymous for wearing on the dry, bright sunny days and can really add another dimension to ones outfit with the choice of colours available. This season we have bought quite heavily into Suede and turns out it was a good idea. Suede Loafers- great for wearing with Jeans, Chinos and sometimes even Shorts. They really do have a more relaxed look to them which also presents an […]

The Lynwood- Our New Hand-Sewn Derby

Dear All, We have long been thinking about hopping on board with a Ready to Wear Derby and the time has now come. We have introduced the Lynwood into this Spring/Summer collection in 6 colours to ensure there is a model for all occasions and outfits. Whilst we know the most famous model is a split-toe Derby, we wanted to keep the front clean and thus not have this feature. The new model also comes on our new last, the SEA last. Features of this last are that it has a more Symmetrical shape from the forefoot to the toe […]

Time to plan the NYE Party

Dear All, Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. It’s now that time in between Christmas and New Years where it is possible to either continue the festivities or relax for a few days before seeing the New Year come to it’s end- most likely with a party! There are lots of different options for a New Years party and no matter which you are attending, there is a shoe for every occasion! Black Tie- I would recommend wearing a highly shined black oxford. For a unique yet classy look the Aurora (above) would make a great choice for this […]

Samples- where the inspiration starts

Dear All, Hope you are having a great week. Many of you may or may not know how long it takes to come up with the model that you see in each Ready to wear collection. It is a long process from an idea that Justin has sketched on a piece of paper to the finished article available to buy online or in store. When I worked on Savile Row and Jermyn St in previous jobs, being part of Management I got to see alot of how the design teams came up with garments ready for a collection which […]
