Burgundy – The Versatile Colour

Dear All, There are many people which come into our showroom or check via email about the versatility of wearing Burgundy/Oxblood/ Plum coloured shoes. For me, this colour palette really does compliment and blend well with most shades of Blue and Grey (apart from very light grey and blue IMO). People often get stuck in wearing different shades of brown, which is not bad thing, but for those that have exhausted all the shades of Brown and shied away from Burgundy, now is the time to add this colour to the collection. Wearing a really rich colour like Burgundy, or […]

After having had a successful launch to our MTO program, and giving a good year of make-ups, we at J.FitzPatrick Footwear felt that it was finally time to offer a deal on our MTO program by knocking off 50% of the MTO fee from now until the end of Sept. Our MTO program is very flexible and there are many things that you can do within in, short of copying other models and/or creating a brand new pattern. But with a little vision, many things can be changed to create a very unique piece of footwear. We also offer very competitive MTO prices […]

The NGT Last

Dear All, We have 7 last shapes at J.F Footwear and wanted to start doing some blog posts about each of them. (LPB, TMG, MGF, SEA, NGT, NJF & JKF) Today we look at the NGT last. Our NGT last was designed to be the midway point between our TMG and JKF lasts ( to come in next posts). It’s intention was to serve as a last that was neither too round nor too pointy. We felt that this creation posed as the ideal ‘modern round’ last. The toe shape is not the only detail that separates our NGT last […]

A few Recent MTO examples

Dear All, Hope you had a great weekend! We are really enjoying seeing some of the creations our clients are making in their MTO purchases. Some rather bold (like above) and then some a bit more classic but all have their own unique characteristics. Since launching the MTO programme we have seen some really cool models come through which is what we like to see as it always keeps us on our toes to ensure we are designing new things here for our ready to wear stock. If you are thinking about MTO, I would suggest looking at our MTO […]

Summer Suede’s- From Loafers to Chukkas

Dear All, We are now well into Spring Summer here in London and I’ve certainly been favouring my various Suede shoes and love the versatility and different styles you can create. Suede is synonymous for wearing on the dry, bright sunny days and can really add another dimension to ones outfit with the choice of colours available. This season we have bought quite heavily into Suede and turns out it was a good idea. Suede Loafers- great for wearing with Jeans, Chinos and sometimes even Shorts. They really do have a more relaxed look to them which also presents an […]

MTO- The best of both worlds

, Recently we have been getting more and more requests about our MTO service so I wanted to give you all a bit more info on this service as it’s the perfect way to have the best of our signature J.FitzPatrick footwear styles but your own individual style. Firstly, MTO means Made To Order, this is not Bespoke. From working in the suiting industry people often got confused between the two and our MTO service is based on our existing patterns/lasts but then you get to have some fun with the design, the lasts, soles and so on (see below). How it works: Any model that […]

A Switch In Tanneries – Museum Calf Now Used

As a shoe brand owner you are (or at least should be) trying to make your shoes better and better. There are generally about 4 main ways in which you can do that: 1. Leather used; 2. Last shapes and thus fit; 3. Construction techniques and 4. small details like fiddleback waists, handsewn aprons, addition of toe taps etc. But being that most shoes are made of leather, that is really the top priority as you really can’t fake bad leather nor leather with faults in it. That being, I was frustrated with a certain leather that I used to […]

Green is the New Blue!

I have been seeing a lot more green in the shoe world. And I think that it is great progress. I remember when I used to preach the idea of wearing navy/blue shoes as a way to break the rules and step outside of the norm. Now I see blue shoes all of the time and I am so happy for it. Almost every conservative brand (or once conservative) now has a pair of blue shoes in the RTW rotation. Some even have more than one. But now I feel that green is the next color. I see people asking […]
