Time to plan the NYE Party

Dear All, Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. It’s now that time in between Christmas and New Years where it is possible to either continue the festivities or relax for a few days before seeing the New Year come to it’s end- most likely with a party! There are lots of different options for a New Years party and no matter which you are attending, there is a shoe for every occasion! Black Tie- I would recommend wearing a highly shined black oxford. For a unique yet classy look the Aurora (above) would make a great choice for this […]

Samples- where the inspiration starts

Dear All, Hope you are having a great week. Many of you may or may not know how long it takes to come up with the model that you see in each Ready to wear collection. It is a long process from an idea that Justin has sketched on a piece of paper to the finished article available to buy online or in store. When I worked on Savile Row and Jermyn St in previous jobs, being part of Management I got to see alot of how the design teams came up with garments ready for a collection which […]

MTO- The best of both worlds

, Recently we have been getting more and more requests about our MTO service so I wanted to give you all a bit more info on this service as it’s the perfect way to have the best of our signature J.FitzPatrick footwear styles but your own individual style. Firstly, MTO means Made To Order, this is not Bespoke. From working in the suiting industry people often got confused between the two and our MTO service is based on our existing patterns/lasts but then you get to have some fun with the design, the lasts, soles and so on (see below). How it works: Any model that […]

The Rainier Spectator

When you are not afraid of a bit of color, a nice spectator shoe will be your best shoe friend. The traditional spectator would be a full brogue one whereby two of the five pieces of the pattern will be of a contrasting color (quite commonly in suede) but I think that I much more prefer the adelaide version of a spectator (hence why I designed one). I like how the middle piece is all one piece of leather instead of being two sewn pieces as those seams cause more rigidity in the shoes where as a one whole piece […]

Go Green for 2016

I have always loved a dark green color for using in footwear. The only problem is that historically it has been hard to sell. But as the world keeps turning and more people, day by day, become more open to the idea of venturing outside of the norm you find that a dark green leather shoes is not so strange after all. And as job dress-codes become more and more relaxed it becomes even easier to think about being different. So I felt that 2016 was going to be the year that everyone would let their hair down and start […]

Canvas is Coming!

I have a prediction that you will start to see more canvas in footwear, coming soon. May not be in this year, but definitely for next year if not 2016. Everything goes back on itself and canvas was once a material often used in footwear. But you don’t see if as often anymore, not outside of fashion. But it is a good, hard wearing material. I have seen Converse Chuck Taylors last 10 years worn nearly every day. Of course, they look like hell but the canvas has upheld. So why not use it more? It is more casual than […]

Burgundy Options

Just because it is A/W doesn’t mean that you can’t break out your shades of burgundy footwear. On the contrary, so long as it is not snowing there is no reason you can’t wear burgundy. Obviously you will gravitate towards black on heavy rain days but on those lovely crisp yet sunny days that are not uncommon in most of the world, it is more reasonable to break out something colorful as if it was Spring. And nothing is better than a good burgundy shoe. So if you have yet to add one to your wardrobe, you just might want […]
